Lenten Prayer | Lent (Year C)

Gracious and Loving God,

In our inner most depths you know us;
in the unexplored regions of our souls you have shined your light.

We come before you and ask for forgiveness,
from what we have done and left undone.

When goodness is too hard, we have faltered.
When mercy is not judging enough we have poured on.
When grace is too easy for us we have rubbed it in.

We rejoice that you are not this way with us,
for you love us with your whole being,
and give to us every goodness and mercy,
to give us faith when we have none,
hope when we have lost it
and love that lasts forever.
