A Prayer for Holy Saturday | Holy Saturday (Year C)

God of the tomb,
your Son has entrusted his life to you
in the moment when all is dark
and hope seems nothing but a memory.
The body that was broken has been buried
and the song that we had sung is now silent.

God of love,
When death seems to have the final word, give us courage.
When hope seems to be buried, give us endurance.
When stones seal us from the light, give us love.
Above all, give us the trust
that now is the only companion for your Son
          in that lonely tomb.
In the name of the One whose death will give us life, we pray. Amen.
